Presenting: colivingalgarve.com
I built an independent guide to coliving in the Algarve, written from months of living in the spaces rather than visiting them.
Late September 2026
The Algarve has a growing number of coliving spaces, and no honest way to choose between them.
Booking platforms list them without explaining what living in one is actually like. Travel guides treat the region as somewhere you visit for a fortnight. And most people planning a long stay have never heard of coliving in the first place. They know they want longer than a holiday. They just haven’t found the model that fits. So explaining the concept became part of the product rather than a footnote to it.
What I put in:
- Space profiles that lead with atmosphere and social character. The practical details come second.
- Town pages on what a place is like to live in for a season, including the cost of an ordinary day.
- Guides — visas, costs, getting around, surfing, hiking, markets — plus opinion pieces that argue rather than summarise.
- Seasonal issues, quarterly.
- Last-verified dates on everything, because the internet in a building gets worse without warning.
- Closure records: when a space shuts, its page stays up and is marked closed. Deleting it would be tidier and less honest.
No rankings, no paid placements, no featured listings. Every space gets the same treatment, whether or not we’re on speaking terms.
It’s for anyone planning four weeks or more on the coast. Most of them wouldn’t call themselves digital nomads, and I don’t either. The region runs 200km from Sagres to the Spanish border, so the site is finished in the sense that a library is finished once the shelves go up.
